Achievement Award
The Canadian Heart Rhythm Society (CHRS) Achievement Award was created in 2012 to recognize Canadian CHRS members who have made outstanding contributions in their career within the cardiovascular heart rhythm field.
Eligibility Criteria
CHRS members are asked to nominate an individual:
- whose career has significantly aided the growth of and support to the heart rhythm field;
- is a member of the CHRS; although the recipient is usually expected to be a member of the CHRS, if nominated, exceptions can be considered at the discretion of the Nominations and Awards Committee in exceptional circumstances i.e.: retirement; and
- has highly respected attributes relative to this award.
Selection Criteria
A nomination submission must include the following documents:
- two letters of recommendation summarizing the candidate's highly respected attributes relative to this award; and
- a 1-2-page Biography of the nominee.
Award Prize
The award will be presented at the CHRS Annual Meeting. The winner will receive the CHRS Crystal Award, as well as complimentary annual membership dues for the following year.
A call for nominations will go out to all CHRS members annually with a closing date of early-May.

Magdy Basta Award
The Magdy Basta Award was created in 2017 to recognize a CHRS member who has made great efforts to support the research of others. This could be through mentoring; enrollment in clinical trials, research education; grant assistance or other things that someone has done to forward Canadian research, without obvious benefit for themselves.
Eligibility Criteria
CHRS members are asked to nominate an individual:
- who has supported the research of others through mentoring, enrollment in clinical trials, research education, grant assistance,or other things that someone has done to forward Canadian research without obvious benefit for themselves;
- is a member of the CHRS; although the recipient is usually expected to be a member of the CHRS, if nominated, exceptions can be considered at the discretion of the Nominations and Awards Committee in exceptional circumstances i.e.: retirement; and
- has highly respected attributes relative to this award.

Allied Health Professional Achievement Award
The CHRS Allied Health Professional Achievement Award was created in 2021 to recognize Canadian CHRS members who have made outstanding contributions in their career within the cardiovascular heart rhythm field.
Eligibility Criteria
CHRS members are asked to nominate an individual whose/who:
- is a CHRS allied health professional member (Technologist, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist, Research Coordinator, Genetics Counsellor, Faculty or Instructors);
- career has significantly aided the growth of and support to the heart rhythm field; and
- has highly respected attributes relative to this award.
Selection Criteria
A nomination submission must include the following documents:
- two letters of recommendation summarizing the candidate's highly respected attributes relative to this award; and
- a 1-2-page Biography of the nominee.

Highest rated Electrophysiology Abstract by a Trainee Award
The CHRS Highest Rated Electrophysiology Abstract by a Trainee Award was created in 2012. Abstracts that are accepted for presentation at Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) that are submitted to the CHRS EP Trainee Award will be considered; the trainee with the highest rated electrophysiology abstract will be selected as the winner.
The award will be presented at the CHRS Annual Meeting. The winner will receive an honorary plaque.
